Hi, welcome to Morocco Notes. I’m Liga.
Together with my husband Juris, our 6-year-old son Krists and our Hungarian vizsla Flera – who believes every road trip exists purely for her entertainment, we spend part of each year escaping the Baltic winter in our self-built Mercedes Sprinter 4×4 camper van.
The Story Behind Morocco Notes
We are from Latvia, a small country in the Baltic States, where winters are long, cold and dark. Therefore, instead of staying home during the coldest months, we usually pack the van and head south.
In the meantime, we run 2BLACKCABINS – two stylish A-frame vacation cabins that have quietly become a popular escape for guests looking for nature, design and slow moments. However, when the quieter season arrives, we sometimes close the cabins for a while and disappear on our own adventures.
For the past four years we’ve had this little tradition – leaving Latvia around January and traveling until spring returns. Specifically, since our son will soon start school, we’re trying to collect as many adventures as possible before life becomes a bit more scheduled.
Our home on wheels is called MO THE BLACK, and it takes us to mountains, deserts and places far away from everyday life.
This year the road led us all the way to Morocco. We’ve actually been here before, but this time – traveling slower and deeper – we finally fell in love with the country.
Additionally, I work as a graphic designer, and I love that it’s a kind of work that can travel with me.
Therefore, this blog is where we share travel experiences, vanlife moments and places that surprised us along the way.
But it’s also something simpler –
a little virtual Morocco memory box, a place where we can return one day and get lost again in these adventures.
